Prof. Daniel Bodmer is head of the department of Otolaryngology at the University Hospital in Basel and co-founder of Strekin. Prof. Bodmer is an experienced clinician and leads a busy unit responsible for medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. Besides his clinical activities, Prof. Bodmer runs an inner ear research laboratory affiliated with the University of Basel and has published extensively on mechanisms of hearing loss and prevention. Prof. Bodmer held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Toronto and the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) where he obtained his hearing research training from Prof. A. Ryan. He holds an M.D. and Ph.D. degree from the University of Zurich and his Ph.D. training was obtained at the Swiss federal institute of technology in Zurich (ETHZ).
